Truck Dog & The Go People
Music In Review
Truck Dog & The Go People has a large discography collection. From synth-wave instrumentals that can include rock guitars, to pure punk rock energies, there is a little something here for everyone. You will find great collaborative efforts with other indie artists as well. The list is too large to cover in a single review, so you should peruse the collection and find out what suits your search for indie music best.
Here are some songs I listened to that are worth the price of listening:
Spilling Tea is a strong instrumental composition. It has a solid warm intro, reminiscent of Every Breath You Take by The Police, and immediately pulls you in. It has a peaceful, upbeat energy with great movement and transitions. The synth solo was an unexpected and appreciated surprise. There are a lot of great textures that please the ears with ease.
Sumus Magni Furati is another instrumental with an anxiety to its composition, a foreboding of something coming. The bass creeps in the background like someone walking behind you, but you aren't sure where they are coming from. This is all driven by a tight drum beat that perpetuates the angst.
Foggy Headlights is an instrumental collaboration with another indie artist, Pixie Post. This is a mesmerizing song that sends us to an extra-planetary beach where synth seagulls echo in the background. It has a quiet, solitary movement with a solid backbeat. The subtle intro engages us to see where the song may take us.
I Will See You Again is haunting with its gut-wrenching angst, melancholy lyrics, and perfectly laid-out vibe. The tone of the solo only begs for more forgiveness with its tortured melody.
Smile Smile Smile is straight-up punk vocals, music and energy. If you are a fan of The Clash and their lot, you will hear remnants of punk of that bygone era.
Please check out Truck Dog & The Go People for yourself and add them to your musical archives.
